30 OCTOBER 2020
Another 1967 lunch gathering was held at Club York in Sydney's CBD on Friday 30 October 2020. It was very pleasing that over 50 percent of our year responded to the invitation to attend last week’s lunch in Sydney. Numbers were once again limited due to coronavirus and border lockdowns. Also, many on the land sent their apologies as recent rain resulted in additional work making it difficult to get away. Consequently it was a select group that attended. The attached photos record the occasion. The next lunch is scheduled for Friday 12 March 2021 – make a note in your calendar. I’ll email details about six weeks prior to the date. UPCOMING EVENTS:
NEXT CLASS OF '67 LUNCH Friday 12 March 2021
OBU EVENTS The OBU looks forward to recommencing a full program of events in 2021. This will include the Harrisford Group event (for which we all qualify being 70+). More on this as information comes to hand.
OBITUARIES Many obits have been completed. They make fascinating reading as they generally provide family history and expand on achievements after school. They can be found on the Obituaries Page on this site.
OBITUARIES - YOUR HELP: We need your help to locate info on the seven obituaries in progress. Additionally, the Editorial Committee (comprising of Cyril Payne, Rod Hammett, Mac Gudgeon, Malcolm Lamb, Basil Simmons, and Charles Jennings) is looking to record obits for everyone. Some of our year have already taken action to make sure their lives are properly recorded, by writing a draft that they have then swapped with someone else in our year. (Admirable proactive action!) Each of us should write a draft of his obituary, complete with appropriate photos, and swap with someone else in our year. The completed obituaries on our website provide a guide to suggested format.
An alternative approach would be to send your 'pre-recorded' obit to the Editorial Committee and we can store them as appropriate.
